Container topples on Mumbai-Pune Expressway, causing a traffic chaos | Video

Pune, Aug 07, 2023: A huge container toppled on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway this evening, causing a traffic chaos and a complete traffic standstill on the Pune bound lanes of the expressway.

Merely days ago, another large container had toppled inside Khandala Tunnel, choking all traffic on Mumbai bound lanes of the expressway. In yet another accident a severe collision involving two trucks on the Mumbai Pune Expressway near Borghat Police Station had resulted in one fatality and several injuries. A glass truck, one of the vehicles involved, toppled, scattering shards of glass across the expressway. 

Unfortunately, the region was once again met with another untoward incident today. In a recent occurrence, an overturned container brought traffic to a halt during the evening hours. No casualties were reported in connection with this accident. The mishap unfolded as the driver lost control, leading to the container toppling over on the expressway.

As a consequence of this incident, traffic has grinded to a halt, particularly affecting the flow of vehicles headed towards Pune. The highway police are actively engaged in efforts to streamline the traffic and alleviate the resulting congestion.
