The grand ceremony was held in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu to mark the religious flag-hoisting ceremony of the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Mahakumbh 2027. The President also performed the Goda Puja as thousands of devotees, saints and ascetics gathered at the Ramtirth area for the event. (Pune News)

Around 6,500 tribal participants from approximately 650 villages in tribal-dominated talukas took part in the ceremony. The collective aarti brought together communities and highlighted Nashik’s religious and cultural traditions.

This is Nashik’s second world record within a week. On October 25, 2026, a total of 517 conch players created a world record by blowing conches simultaneously at Ramtirth.

During the event, President Droupadi Murmu assured necessary assistance to drought-affected farmers. Maharashtra Governor Dr Jishnu Dev Varma expressed his wish for the state to become “Sujalam Sufalam”, while Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis acknowledged the cultural contributions of the tribal community.

The event was organised through the efforts of the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority and the Ramtirth Goda Aarti Committee. The achievement adds another milestone to Nashik’s preparations for the Simhastha Kumbh Parv 2027. (Pune News)
