Pune: PMRDA to Scrap TP Scheme in Maval Villages if 50% of Farmers Oppose It
The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) will send proposals to scrap the Town Planning (TP) Scheme in Maval villages where the gram panchayat has passed a resolution against it and at least 50% of farmers oppose the scheme.
The decision was announced by Municipal Commissioner Dr Abhijit Chaudhary at a meeting held on Monday at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hall at the PMRDA headquarters in Akurdi on the proposed 65-metre-wide Inner Ring Road.
Sarpanchs, elected representatives and farmers from Salumbre, Darumbre, Godumbre, Parandwadi, Dhamane and Sangwade villages in Maval taluka attended the meeting, where concerns and objections regarding the project were raised.
Dr Chaudhary clarified that the Inner Ring Road width has been fixed at 65 metres under the Regional Plan. The road has been accommodated within the original 110-metre alignment, avoiding additional land acquisition. The 65-metre width will be specified in PMRDA’s Structural Plan, following which revised zone certificates will be issued without the existing reference to 110 metres.
Farmers whose land is acquired for the project will receive cash compensation based on proper valuation. Those who voluntarily give their consent will be eligible for additional compensation as per the rules.
PMRDA will also plan the areas along the Inner Ring Road as a Development Zone through the Structural Plan and subsequent detailed plans. This is intended to facilitate the future planning of civic and urban infrastructure in the surrounding areas.
Officials from PMRDA and the Revenue Department attended the meeting, including Joint Commissioner of Land and Property Department Poonam Mehta, Metropolitan Planner Smita Kalkutki, Executive Engineer (In-charge) Rajendra Rahane, Sub-Divisional Officer Vanshree Labhshetwar and Tehsildar Surendra Nawale.
