Issued by the Public Health Department on October 16, 2026, the directive follows instructions given by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, on October 12, 2026.

Under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Rules, 2021, establishments registered under the Bombay Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949, must exhibit their tariff cards in both Marathi and English at important, clearly visible, and accessible areas within the hospital premises.

Hospitals must immediately update these rate cards if any changes occur.

To prevent billing disputes, staff at registration desks, enquiry counters, and billing desks are directed to provide necessary guidance regarding charges and packages.

Facilities catering to international patients arriving on medical or AYUSH visas must also clearly display special package rates.

Competent authorities, including District Surgeons, District Health Officers, and Municipal Corporation Health Officers, are directed to periodically review compliance and take administrative or legal action against institutions violating the rules.
