Pune: Wanted Accused in MCOCA Case Detained in Ahilyanagar
Pune, September 30, 2026: Pune Crime Branch Unit 3 detained a wanted accused in a Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) case from Karanji village in Pathardi taluka, Ahilyanagar district, on September 29.
Police identified him as Manoj alias Manya Bhausaheb Padale, a resident of Charwad Vasti near Renuka Mata Temple in Vadgaon Budruk, Pune.
According to police, he had been absconding since the case was registered at Bharati Vidyapeeth police station.
The case, registered as crime number 119/2026, includes provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Criminal Law Amendment Act, the Maharashtra Police Act and MCOCA.
Police said information received by personnel Vipul Gaikwad, followed by technical analysis by Atul Sathe, helped establish that Padale was in the Pathardi area.
A team led by Inspector Prashant Annachhatre and Sub-Inspector Santosh Bhandwalkar travelled to Ahilyanagar district.
After receiving further information about his location, the team detained him at Karanji at 9 am on September 29.
He was handed over to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Bharati Vidyapeeth Division, who is investigating the case, for further action.
