Murlidhar Mohol, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation and Pune MP, instructed the local administration to prepare DPR for Chandni Chowk–Ghotawade Phata–Pirangut–Hinjawadi Metro Line. He was chairing a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at the Pune District Collector’s office on Wednesday.
The new proposed metro line will connect Chandni Chowk, Pirangut and Ghotawade Phata to Hinjawadi and then to the rest the city through Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro.
Mohol also directed officials to go ahead with other Pune Metro proposals, such as expediting PMC’s financial consent for the Vanaz–Chandni Chowk elevated corridor, securing necessary approvals for the Ramwadi–Wagholi corridor, and completing the DPR for Metro connectivity to Lohegaon Airport within a stipulated time.
Baramati MP Supriya Sule attended the DISHA meeting through video conferencing. Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad administrative officials, the Pune District Collector, elected representatives and senior officials from various departments were also present during the meeting.
