Pune, June 12, 2026: Pune Municipal Corporation has announced that starting Monday, June 15, 2026, the city will get water supply on alternate days to stretch water availability for as long as possible to tackle water scarcity caused by declining water storage in reservoirs and delayed monsoon arrival.

This decision is based on PMC’s review of water storage in the reservoirs, inputs from irrigation department, and monsoon forecasts by IMD.

The IMD has forecast a deficient monsoon this year, ranging from 90-95% of the Long Period Average (LPA). Consequently this has prompted PMC to take this step to conserve water.

Considering the water situation, PMC has appealed residents to use water judiciously. Any water supply related issues can be reported on their call center at 1800-1030-222 or WhatsApp to 9689900002.

Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram and Mayor Manjusha Deepak Nagpure have appealed to citizens to cooperate with PMC in this hour of need.
