Hinjawadi-Baner Metro to Commence by July 15, To Reach Shivajinagar by August 2026 – PMRDA
Pune, June 11, 2026: Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro or Pune Metro Line 3 has been a topic of discussion among the people of Pune for more than two years now with speculation arising every now and then about the launch date of this service.
There have been numerous dates presented in the past for the commencement of this service but the dates came and went but the commuters kept waiting.
However, the important point to be noted here is that most of these dates were speculative and the agency that owns this project – PMRDA, rarely communicated any commencement date till now.
This has changed now. On June 10th, PMRDA Commissioner, Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary (IAS), during an interaction with journalists at their Headquarter in Akurdi, confirmed that Hinjawadi-Baner stretch of Pune Metro Line 3 will commence by July 15th 2026 and will eventually reach its final station of Shivajinagar by August 2026.
Initially the service will commence between 12 stations from Megapolis Society in Phase 3 to Ramnagar in Baner. The other stations on this route will be:
- Quadron Business Park
- Dohler
- Infosys Phase 2
- Wipro Technologies Phase 2
- Pall India
- Shivaji Chowk
- Courtyard by Marriott
- Wakad Chowk
- Balewadi Stadium
- Orchid Hotel
- Ramnagar
The exact names of these stations may be announced when the service goes live and are only indicative of the area they represent. Since PMRDA has announced this date officially during a press conference and through their social handles, it is likely that the service would start by July 15th till Baner and till Shivajinagar by end of August.
