Asavari is the daughter of Santosh Jagdale, a Pune resident who tragically lost his life in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Following the incident, the state government had promised the family financial stability and administrative support. During a personal visit to the Jagdale residence to console Santosh’s wife, Pragati, and their daughter, the Deputy Chief Minister had assured the family that Asavari would be inducted into a government role.

Addressing the Delay

The directive comes on the heels of concerns raised by Baramati MP Supriya Sule, who recently highlighted the administrative delay in fulfilling this promise. Sule pointed out that despite Asavari being highly educated and experienced, and despite the Chief Minister’s initial positive stance, the proposal for her appointment remained pending.

“The family has been facing immense hardships since the loss of their primary breadwinner,” Sule had stated, urging the government to show sensitivity toward those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam tragedy.

Immediate Action

Responding to the urgency of the situation, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde held a telephonic discussion with PMC Commissioner Navalkishore Ram. He issued clear instructions to expedite the process and ensure Asavari Jagdale is absorbed into the service as per her qualifications, finally fulfilling the state’s commitment to the grieving family.
