discount on property tax penalties

Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued a final reminder to property owners to capitalize on the ongoing Property Tax Abhay Yojana (Amnesty Scheme). With the deadline set for February 15, taxpayers have only a few days left to settle their dues and avail themselves of a significant waiver on penalty dues.

Under this scheme, the civic body is offering a 75% concession on the accumulated fines and penalties for those who clear their outstanding property tax in full. The initiative aims to provide financial relief to residents while boosting the corporation’s revenue collection for the current fiscal year.

A Golden Opportunity for Taxpayers

For many property owners in Pune, the mounting penalties on unpaid taxes have often been a barrier to settling their accounts. This amnesty scheme serves as a “golden opportunity” to become debt-free.

The PMC has simplified the payment process to ensure maximum participation. Residents can make their payments through the official portal to ensure their records are updated instantly.

How to Avail the Benefit

To take advantage of the 75% discount on penalties, property owners must:

  1. Complete their payment on or before Sunday, February 15.
  2. Pay the entire principal amount along with the remaining 25% of the penalty.
  3. Payments can be made online via the official website: https://propertytax.punecorporation.org.

PMC officials have urged citizens not to wait until the final hour to avoid potential technical glitches or heavy rushes at ward offices. “This is the final window for the Abhay Yojana. We encourage all arrears holders to use this 75% discount and contribute to the city’s development,” a senior PMC official stated.
