Pune Weather Alert – Single Digit Temperature Returns to Pune; IMD Sounds Yellow Alert in Many Districts for Cold Wave
Pune, November 30, 2025: The city woke up to sharp winter chills as the minimum temperature slipped back to single digits. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Pune Weather Alert with cold wave like conditions likely to continue till December 5. Several pockets in Pune district recorded some of the lowest temperatures of this season.
Pune Sees Sharp Dip in Minimum Temperature
As per the latest update, Shivajinagar recorded 9.8°C, while multiple areas across the district also reported near-single-digit temperatures. The sudden drop has brought back dense early-morning fog and icy winds across the city.

- Haveli: 7.8°C
- Pashan: 9.4°C
- Baramati: 9.6°C
- Shivajinagar: 9.8°C
- Talegaon: 10.1°C
- Nimgiri: 10.9°C
- Ambegaon: 10.7°C
- Daund: 10.4°C
- Kurvande: 12.2°C
- Girivan: 15.3°C
- Dhamdhere: 14.8°C
The IMD has said that cold wave like conditions are likely to persist, and Punekars should brace for colder nights this week. This drop falls under the Pune Weather Alert criteria as temperatures move significantly below the normal range for this time of the year.
Cold Wave Warning Issued for Many Maharashtra Districts
The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) Mumbai has warned that cold wave conditions are very likely in several districts of North Madhya Maharashtra. A yellow alert has been sounded for:
- Dhule
- Nandurbar
- Jalgaon
- Nashik
- Ahilyanagar
- Pune
- Solapur
- Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
- Jalna
- Parbhani
- Beed
Other districts in the state are expected to witness mild winter conditions. Pune, however, remains one of the regions experiencing the strongest drop in temperatures.

What Residents Should Expect
With the Pune Weather Alert in place, the IMD expects:
- Cold mornings and nights till at least 5 December
- Dense fog in the early hours
- Dry air and cool winds in the evenings
- Slight chances of even lower temperatures in interior rural pockets
Light woollens are no longer enough, and residents are advised to stay warm, especially the elderly and children.
