What Happened at Bhumkar Chowk
A speeding container truck heading towards Mumbai rammed into several vehicles around 1:45 pm. The truck hit a Mahindra pickup, Thar, Ertiga, Nissan and Bolero. In total, five to six vehicles were damaged. Witnesses said the container came downhill at high speed, causing the chain collision.

Vehicles Damaged but No Casualties
All the vehicles involved suffered heavy damage. Thankfully, there were no deaths. A few people received minor injuries and were treated at the spot. Traffic on the highway slowed down because of the jam that followed.

Confusion Linked to Navale Bridge Accident
Last week, a major accident on Navale Bridge killed eight people after a container with brake failure hit nearly 20 vehicles. Because the tragedy is still fresh, many people assumed the new incident had also taken place on the same bridge. The police confirmed this was not the case and that the latest crash happened at Bhumkar Chowk.

Ongoing Safety Concerns
Frequent accidents around Navale Bridge and Narhe have raised concerns about road safety. Locals are asking for stronger safety measures. Recently, Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol reviewed the Navale Bridge stretch and asked officials to act quickly. With another crash now reported at Bhumkar Chowk, the demand for long-term solutions has only grown.

Police Investigation
Police teams are checking CCTV footage and talking to witnesses to understand how the container lost control. A detailed report will be released soon.
