Pune, November 07, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out a major anti-encroachment and demolition drive in Kasba-Vishrambaugwada and Kondhwa areas on 6 November 2025. The operation targeted illegal roadside structures and unauthorized buildings, as part of the civic body’s ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and urban discipline.

Encroachments Removed in Kasba-Vishrambaugwada
The PMC’s Encroachment Removal Department took action against illegal stalls and sheds at Babu Genu Chowk, Mandai Chowk, and the MSEB Centre area. The operation resulted in the removal of 25 hawker stalls, 40 other unauthorized setups, and 28 sheds. The action was supported by three police personnel, five MSF guards, one JCB, two trucks, and sixteen labourers.

Demolition Drive in Kondhwa
A separate special task force acted against an unauthorized high-rise structure in Kondhwa Khurd near Makkah Masjid, Bhagyauday Nagar, Survey No. 52. The illegal B3+10 storey RCC building covered around 15,000 sq. ft. and was found unsafe after the demolition began. The operation involved six labourers, five police officers, one JCB, four breakers, two gas cutters, five junior engineers, and two deputy engineers.

PMC has issued a public advisory urging citizens not to purchase flats or occupy the affected building, as it has been declared dangerous and unfit for use. The civic body reaffirmed its commitment to continue strict action against unauthorized constructions across Pune to ensure compliance with building regulations and urban safety standards.
