Pune Water Supply Shutdown on October 9: Areas Affected and Details

Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a planned water supply shutdown on Thursday, October 9, 2025, to carry out essential work at the newly established Parvati Water Purification Plant (500 MLD). The civic body has urged residents to use water judiciously during this period.
Areas to Face Water Disruption
The maintenance work will impact several areas connected to the Parvati Water Treatment Plant and its associated reservoirs, including:
- Parvati Pumping Station premises, Parvati Elevated Reservoir premises, and Parvati ESR Tank premises
- SNDT ESR, Taware Colony Tank premises, and Bibvewadi Tank premises
- Parvati Tank Pipeline, Laxmi Nagar, Bibvewadi, Sahakar Nagar, and surrounding zones
- Swargate, Gultekdi, Mukund Nagar, Dhankawadi, Balaji Nagar, and Ambegaon Budruk areas
- Gandhi Nagar, Shankar Sheth Road, Market Yard, and Dandekar Bridge vicinity
Water supply will remain completely shut in these areas throughout the day on October 9, 2025, due to the installation of a new 22 kV power supply at the Parvati Water Purification Plant. PMC teams will be performing essential electrical and technical work to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
Water Supply to Resume Gradually
The civic body has also informed that water supply will gradually resume from Friday morning, October 10, 2025, but residents may initially experience low pressure in some areas as the system stabilizes.
PMC’s Appeal to Citizens
PMC has requested all citizens to store adequate water in advance and use it carefully and sparingly during the shutdown period. The corporation has appealed to residents to cooperate while the upgradation work is underway, as it is essential to ensure smoother water supply in the future.
