Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi and Pune Rural Police said the measures are necessary to manage the heavy rush and ensure smooth traffic movement in Maval taluka.

According to the notification, heavy vehicles will not be allowed from Karla Phata to the foothills of the Ekvira temple throughout the festival period. From September 27 to October 1, heavy vehicles will also be restricted between 6 AM and 10 PM on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, between Kusgaon Budruk Toll Plaza near Lonavala and Vadgaon Maval Phata.

To reduce congestion, diversions have been planned. Heavy vehicles heading to Pune via Kusgaon Budruk Toll Plaza must take the Urse Toll Plaza route on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Similarly, those heading towards Mumbai from Vadgaon Maval Phata will be diverted via Somatane Phata to join the expressway.

The district administration has urged citizens and transporters to take note of these changes and cooperate with officials for safe and smooth movement during the festive period.
