PM Modi Bullet train news

Earlier during the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a bullet train from Tokyo to Sendai, accompanied by his Japanese counterpart, Shigeru Ishiba. He had arrived in Tokyo on Friday for a two-day visit.

In an interview with the Japanese newspaper The Yomiuri Shimbun, PM Modi shared some exciting news about India’s high-speed rail plans. He said that while the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is already underway, the government has even bigger ambitions, planning a 7,000-kilometer high-speed rail network across the country.

He also mentioned that the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor is a flagship project with Japan and that passenger services are expected to start in just a few years. It sounds like India’s high-speed rail journey is really picking up pace.

  • Delhi – Varanasi
  • Delhi – Ahmedabad
  • Mumbai – Nagpur
