Pune: Hinjawadi Residents Unhappy Over Exclusion From Key Meeting Chaired by CM on Infrastructural Issues

Key Stakeholders Left Out as Government Holds High-Level Discussion
Pune, July 10, 2025: Residents and local representatives of Hinjawadi are expressing strong discontent after being excluded from a crucial meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 10, which will address pressing infrastructure issues such as road conditions, electricity shortages, and traffic congestion in the IT hub.
Meeting Details and Attendees
The discussion, set to take place today at the Cabinet Hall of Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai, will involve high-ranking officials, including:
- Principal Secretary of Urban Development
- Principal Secretary of Finance and Planning
- Minister of State for Urban Development
- Chinchwad MLA Shankar Jagtap
- Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge
- Pune District Collector
- Commissioners of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporations
- PMRDA Commissioner
- Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner

Despite the meeting’s focus on Hinjewadi IT Park’s challenges, no invitations were extended to local MP Supriya Sule, MLA Shankar Mandekar, village sarpanches, or representatives from key organizations such as the Hinjawadi-Maan Employees and Residents Trust (HEART), Forum for IT Employees (FITE), and Hinjawadi Industrial Association (HIA).
Residents and Activists Voice Frustration
Residents argue that decisions affecting them are being made without their input. “Meetings about our issues are happening, yet we are being ignored,” said a frustrated local. Social media posts from activists highlight the exclusion, questioning why grassroots stakeholders were left out despite their ongoing efforts to resolve infrastructure problems.
Growing Resentment Over Lack of Representation
For months, organizations like HEART, FITE, and HIA have actively campaigned for better roads, reliable power supply, and improved public services. Their exclusion from the meeting has sparked anger and disappointment, with many accusing the administration of bypassing public participation in critical discussions.
As the meeting proceeds in Mumbai, Hinjawadi’s residents and leaders demand accountability, urging authorities to include local voices in future decision-making processes.
