Pune: Hadapsar Railway Station to Get PMPML Bus Terminal for Seamless City Connectivity
Pune News, July 08, 2025: In a major boost to Pune’s integrated transport infrastructure, PMPML (Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited) has announced plans to set up a dedicated bus terminal and parking facility at Hadapsar Railway Station. This initiative aims to significantly improve connectivity between the upcoming railway terminal and various key areas of the city.
On July 8, 2025, PMPML Chairperson and Managing Director Mrs. Deepa Mudhol-Munde (IAS) personally visited and inspected the proposed site for the new bus terminal. Her visit marks a crucial step in the corporation’s ongoing efforts to streamline multi-modal transport for Pune’s residents.
PMPML and Railways Join Hands for Better Connectivity
The Indian Railways is planning to develop Hadapsar Railway Station into a terminal in the near future. In line with this, PMPML has formally requested a designated space at the station for its new bus terminal and parking infrastructure. The aim is to ensure seamless connectivity for railway passengers through PMPML bus services linking major destinations across Pune.
Currently, passengers can reach Hadapsar Railway Station using Shuttle Bus Route No. 156, which operates between Hadapsar Gadital and the station. Additionally, PMPML routes 160, 168, and 169 pass close to the station, allowing commuters to arrive within minutes. However, due to the narrow road conditions, shuttle services face operational difficulties. PMPML is now working in close coordination with the railway authorities to address and resolve these issues effectively.

Direct Citywide Bus Services Planned
Speaking about the proposal, Mrs. Mudhol-Munde said,
“Our main goal is to provide better facilities for railway passengers and make PMPML’s bus service more efficient. Once the proposed space at Hadapsar Railway Station is approved, PMPML will operate direct bus services to major parts of Pune city, ensuring smooth integration between rail and bus transport.”
The development aligns with PMPML’s Traveler-Welfare Policy, aimed at improving the overall travel experience for city commuters. Once operational, the Hadapsar terminal will play a key role in providing last-mile connectivity and will support passengers traveling from Pune’s eastern suburbs to the central and western zones.
