PMRDA Launches ₹64 Crore Road Project to Link Hinjawadi Phase 1, Mahalunge, Thakar Vasti, Maan & Surya Hospital

Pune News, July 08, 2025: In a significant push to enhance infrastructure and streamline transportation in Pune’s bustling Hinjawadi industrial zone, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has initiated the development of three key roads. This major investment aims not just to facilitate smoother commutes for residents but also to boost the operational efficiency of businesses in the region.
Three Strategic Roads to Transform Hinjawadi Access
The PMRDA has taken charge of improving road connectivity in the Hinjawadi area of Mulshi Taluka, with a combined investment of ₹64.38 crore. These projects are expected to uplift the quality of traffic management, improve public safety, and accelerate industrial productivity.
- Mahalunge to Hinjawadi Phase 1 Road
A 1.50 km long and 36-meter wide road is being developed at a cost of ₹13.05 crore. This stretch will act as a vital connector to one of the most active segments of the IT and industrial belt. - Thakar Vasti to Maan Gaothan Road
This 2.40 km stretch is undergoing development with a budget allocation of ₹20.88 crore. The road will provide improved access between residential clusters and industrial facilities. - Surya Hospital to Thakar Vasti Road
The longest among the three, this 3.50 km road project has been approved with a cost of ₹30.45 crore. Once completed, it will significantly improve medical and daily connectivity for the residents and workers in the vicinity.
Land Acquisition in Progress
PMRDA has already commenced the land acquisition process for all three roads. Following this, construction will begin in full swing. These roads are not merely intended as traffic solutions but are part of a broader vision to make Hinjawadi’s industrial and civic environment safer, more efficient, and better connected.

PMRDA’s Commitment to Sustainable and Modern Infrastructure
This latest initiative underscores PMRDA’s ongoing commitment to sustainable urban development and modern infrastructure. By addressing existing transport bottlenecks and planning proactively for future demands, PMRDA aims to transform Hinjawadi into a model zone for integrated industrial and residential development.
