Current Dam Storage Levels

  • Mulshi Dam76.33% full
  • Pawana Dam76.22% full

With heavy rainfall in the catchment areas, both dams are experiencing significant water inflow, necessitating regulated discharges to prevent overflow risks.

Precautionary Measures Issued

Suresh Kondubhairi, a representative from Tata Power (which operates Mulshi Dam), stated that discharge rates may be adjusted—increased or decreased—based on weather conditions. Authorities have issued a strict warning for residents to:
✔ Avoid entering the Mula River’s banks or low-lying areas
✔ Stay alert for sudden surges in water flow
✔ Follow official updates from the Pune District Information Office

Why This Matters

  • Public Safety: Rising water levels pose risks of strong currents and flash floods.
  • Water Management: Controlled releases help maintain reservoir stability while ensuring Pune’s water supply.
  • Monsoon Watch: Further adjustments may occur if rainfall persists.

Officials are closely monitoring the situation, and residents are urged to exercise caution near rivers and follow advisories.
