Pune to Host Wildlife Festival for Kids on June 14, Featuring Tadoba’s Birdman Sumedh Waghmare Who Can Mimic Over 200 Bird and Animal Calls

Pune, June 7, 2025 – The second edition of the Wildlife Festival for Kids is set to take place on Saturday, June 14, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Bougainvillea Farms on DP Road near Mhatre Bridge. This free event, supported by the Pune Forest Division, aims to foster a love for nature and wildlife conservation among children and their parents.
Special Attraction: Birdman Sumedh Waghmare
The festival’s star attraction is Sumedh Waghmare, famously known as the Birdman of Tadoba, who can mimic over 200 bird and animal calls. His incredible talent gained fame after cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar shared their interaction on social media. Kids can expect an immersive jungle experience through his live session.
Power-Packed Knowledge Sessions
The event features engaging wildlife sessions, including:
- Arpit Mairal, Range Forest Officer from Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, discussing wildlife conservation.
- Dr. Prachi Mehta, an owl expert, presenting “World of Owls.”
- A puppet show by Mrudula Kelkar’s team on man-animal coexistence.
Short Wildlife Films Screening
The festival concludes with curated wildlife films, such as:

- A special film on Indian Wolves by Advait Dindore
