Pune, May 22, 2025: In a tragic incident, a 10-year-old boy lost his life due to an electric shock in the Ramnagar area of Warje, Pune, on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Mayank alias Dadu Pradeep Adagale, a resident of Ramnagar. The shocking incident has left the local community in deep mourning.

According to reports, Mayank was playing near his house when he accidentally came into contact with an iron electric pole, resulting in a fatal electric shock. Locals immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival due to the severity of the shock.

The Warje police confirmed that the electric pole falls under the jurisdiction of Mahavitaran (MSEDCL), which has been notified about the incident. This tragedy has sparked anger among residents, who claim they had previously raised concerns about the poor condition of electric poles and exposed wiring in the area, but no corrective action was taken.

Following the incident, officials from the Warje police station visited the spot and conducted an inquest. Meanwhile, Mahavitaran has reportedly initiated an internal investigation into the matter.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the urgent need for better electrical safety measures in residential areas to prevent such accidents in the future.
