Pune: Heavy Rain Lashes City, IMD Predicts More Downpour Tomorrow As Orange Alert Continues; Very Heavy Rainfall in Ghats Likely
Pune and its adjoining areas, including the ghats, experienced heavy rainfall on Monday, May 19, 2025, with several regions reporting significant downpour. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted continued rainfall over the next few days and issued an orange alert for Pune city.
The alert includes the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds reaching 50-60 kmph at isolated places in and around the city. The ghats of Pune are expected to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall, along with similar thunderstorm activity and gusty winds.
