Maharashtra HSC Result 2025 Declared: Overall Pass Percentage Drops to 91.88%, Girls Outshine Boys Again

Pune, May 5, 2025 — The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has officially declared the results for the Class 12 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams today. Over 14 lakh students across the state appeared for the exams, held between February 11 and March 11, 2025. Arts Stream Pass Percentage Falls to 80.52%
This year, the overall pass percentage for Arts students has dipped to 80.52%, continuing a downward trend observed since 2022. Historical data reveals the following pass rates:
- 2022: 90.51%
- 2023: 84.05%
- 2024: 85.88%
- 2025: 80.52%
Despite the drop, over 13 lakh students across streams successfully cleared the HSC exams.
Gender-Wise Performance: Girls Lead by Over 5%
Female students once again outshone their male counterparts with a pass percentage of 94.58%, compared to 89.51% for boys—a difference of 5.07%. Among 14,27,085 registered students, 6,94,652 were girls, 8,10,348 were boys, and 37 were transgender students.
Stream-Wise Pass Percentage
The stream-wise performance this year is as follows:
- Science: 97.35%
- Commerce: 92.68%
- Arts: 80.52%
- Vocational: 83.26%
Additionally, 37 subjects across all streams recorded a 100% pass rate, demonstrating academic excellence in select areas.
District-Wise Highlights: Konkan Tops, Latur Lags
- Top Performer: Konkan division with a stellar 96.74% pass rate.
- Lowest Performer: Latur division, at 89.46%.
These trends mirror performance patterns from previous years, with Konkan consistently outperforming other regions.
Private and Repeat Candidates
- Private candidates: 36,133 registered, 29,892 passed — 83.73% pass rate.
- Repeat candidates: 42,388 registered, 15,823 passed — 37.65% pass rate.
Differently-abled students also showed commendable performance with a 92.38% pass rate. Out of 7,310 registered, 6,705 students cleared the exams successfully.
