Pune: Reconstruction Work at Old Pune Airport Terminal Reviewed, August Deadline Set

📍 Pune International Airport, Pune
With the new terminal at Pune International Airport now fully operational, reconstruction of the old terminal is well underway. On Tuesday, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol, along with airport officials, conducted an on-site inspection to review the progress of the redevelopment work.
The newly inaugurated terminal spans 36,000 square meters. As part of the redevelopment plan, an additional 6,000 square meters is being added to bolster passenger capacity and improve infrastructure. To support the project, the central government has allocated ₹25 crore.
Once completed, the revamped terminal will feature 48 check-in counters and will be capable of handling up to 1.05 crore passengers annually. Enhancements will include two automated boarding gates, one new departure gate, and an expanded ticketing area.
Officials have issued firm directives to ensure the project adheres to both quality standards and its completion timeline, targeting an August 2025 finish.
