Pune: Mentally Disturbed Man Arrested for Assaulting Traffic Police Constable in Hadapsar
Pune, January 12, 2025: A man was arrested on Saturday for attacking a traffic police constable in the Hadapsar area. His family claims he is mentally disturbed and provided documents supporting the claim.
The incident occurred at Raskar Chowk around 6:30 PM when the accused was reportedly pelting stones at a senior citizen. Traffic police constable Raju Pawar, who was on duty monitoring traffic, intervened, which led the man to abuse and physically assault him.

Amol Zende, DCP Traffic, stated, “The accused was detained by the local police, but his relatives claimed he was mentally disturbed.”
The accused, a resident of Delhi, was visiting Pune with his family for personal reasons. His family presented documents claiming his mental health issues.
