Western Railway Announces Major Jumbo Block Between Mumbai Central and Mahim
MUMBAI โ Commuters using the Western Railway (WR) suburban network this weekend should prepare for significant travel adjustments. Officials have announced a dual-phase maintenance program involving a major block at Bandra Terminus and a midnight jumbo block between Mumbai Central and Mahim.
Infrastructure Upgrades at Bandra
A primary 36-hour major block is scheduled on the 5th line between Bandra Terminus and Bandra. The block is necessitated by critical augmentation work on Culvert No. 22.
- Duration: From 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 4, 2026, until 10:00 PM on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
- Impact: Railway traffic on the 5th line will be suspended. Additionally, Level Crossing No. 18 will remain closed to road traffic for the duration of the work.
Midnight Jumbo Block
In addition to the culvert work, a four-hour jumbo block will be enforced on the Up and Down Fast lines between Mumbai Central and Mahim for the maintenance of tracks, signaling systems, and overhead equipment (OHE).
- Timing: 12:15 AM to 04:15 AM on the night of April 4/5, 2026.
- Operational Changes: During this window, all Fast line trains will be diverted to the Slow lines between Santacruz and Churchgate stations.
Travel Advisory: Western Railway has requested passengers to plan their journeys in advance. A detailed list of affected trains is available at the respective Station Masters’ offices.
