Vadodara, Gujarat: A quirky street food protest in Vadodara has gone viral online after a woman staged a protest over being served fewer Pani Puris than expected. The incident took place near Sur Sagar Lake when the woman objected to a vendor for giving only 4 Pani Puris instead of 6 for ₹20. Frustrated, she decided to take her protest to the street, causing a traffic jam and leaving locals amused and confused.

A video circulating on social media shows the woman sitting in the middle of a busy road, demanding either the remaining two Pani Puris or the complete removal of the vendor’s stall. Onlookers gathered around as traffic came to a standstill. Netizens found the protest hilarious, sparking a flurry of comments online about the woman’s determination for her favourite street snack.

According to witnesses, the woman frequently visits this Pani Puri stall and was enraged after receiving fewer pieces than usual. When the vendor refused to give her the extra Pani Puris, she became visibly emotional and started protesting on the road.

Police soon arrived at the scene to control the situation. They asked her to move aside, but the woman continued to insist on her demands, reportedly saying she felt the vendor was using ‘dadagiri’ against her when she asked for the extra pieces.

After efforts to calm her down, the police finally managed to clear the road and resume traffic. There is no update on whether the woman eventually got her remaining Pani Puris.

This unusual incident highlights how street food in India can evoke strong emotions, sometimes leading to unexpected and viral moments.
