UIDAI Partners with Google Maps to Display 60,000+ Verified Aadhaar Centres: All You Need to Know
Finding a verified Aadhaar centre is about to become as easy as searching for a nearby cafe, as UIDAI and Google join forces to revolutionize citizen access across India.
NEW DELHI – In a landmark move to enhance the “Ease of Living” for millions of Indians, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has signed a strategic agreement with Google to integrate over 60,000 authorised Aadhaar centres directly into Google Maps.
Announced by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) on February 26, 2026, this collaboration aims to bridge the gap between essential government infrastructure and the digital-first Indian citizen. Residents will soon be able to locate the nearest verified Aadhaar centres and check real-time service availability with a few taps on their smartphones.
A Solution to Combat Misinformation and Fraud
One of the primary drivers behind this partnership is the need to protect citizens from unauthorized agents. By displaying only authorised Aadhaar centres on Google Maps, UIDAI ensures that users are directed to official service points, effectively neutralizing the risk of falling prey to fraudulent service providers.
Whether you are looking for an Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) or a bank-operated enrolment point, the Google Maps integration will serve as a digital seal of trust.
Personalized Search: Filtering by Service Type
Unlike a standard location pin, the new integration will offer granular details to help residents plan their visits. Users will be able to filter search results based on the specific services they require:
- Adult Enrolment: New Aadhaar registrations for adults.
- Child Enrolment: Specialized centres for Bal Aadhaar.
- Updates Only: Centres specifically designated for Aadhaar mobile number updates or address changes.
Accessibility and Infrastructure Transparency
In a significant step toward inclusivity, the listings will provide information on Divyang-friendly infrastructure. Residents can check if a centre has wheelchair access, available parking facilities, and official operating hours before leaving their homes.
“This collaboration will ensure that navigating the authorised Aadhaar centres is now simpler, faster, and more transparent,” stated Sh. Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO, UIDAI, highlighting the authority’s focus on resident-centric digital services.
Phase 2 and Beyond: Direct Feedback and Appointments
The partnership is structured in multiple phases to create a responsive ecosystem:
- Phase 1 (Rolling out soon): Global visibility of 60,000+ centres on Google Maps.
- Phase 2: UIDAI will utilize Google Business Profiles to manage centre data in real-time and respond directly to user feedback.
- Future Integration: Both entities are exploring direct appointment booking through the Google Maps interface, allowing for seamless scheduling without visiting a separate portal.
Bridging the Digital Divide
Ms. Roli Agarwal, Country Head of Strategic Partnerships at Google India, noted that the initiative is designed to make it easier for residents to find trusted services with confidence. By leveraging Google’s massive local search reach, UIDAI is ensuring that even residents in rural areas can find the closest verified infrastructure without hurdles.
The facility is expected to be fully operational and visible to the public in the coming months.
