Gurgaon, June 5, 2025 – Uber has reported a significant surge in the usage of its pre-scheduled ride service, Uber Reserve, with bookings growing nearly 200% year-on-year in 2024. The feature, which allows riders to book trips in advance, is gaining traction among Indians seeking reliability for airport commutes, festival travel, and business trips.

Airport Rides Drive Demand

Nearly one in four airport drop-offs in India now occur via Uber Reserve, with Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai leading in adoption. Airport trips accounted for 40% of all Reserve rides in 2024, highlighting the growing preference for assured travel during critical times.

Festivals, Weddings, and Long Weekends See Surge

Beyond airport travel, Reserve bookings spiked during key occasions such as wedding seasons, exam periods, and major festivals like Diwali, Eid, and Christmas. Usage rose by nearly 15% ahead of public holidays, while intercity travel via Reserve jumped 40% during Diwali and 30% over long weekends.

Business Travelers Opt for Reliability

Uber for Business saw a 140% increase in Reserve bookings, now making up 10% of all pre-scheduled rides. This trend reflects professionals’ growing preference for dependable transportation.

Chennai Leads in Advance Bookings

Chennai recorded the highest share of pre-booked trips in 2024, followed by Bangalore and Hyderabad. On average, riders scheduled Reserve trips nine hours in advance, with some booking as early as 89 days ahead. Popular time slots included 4-6 AM for flights and 7-10 AM for office commutes.

Riders Prioritize Control and Convenience

Shweta Mantri, Head of Rider Verticals at Uber India and South Asia, said, “Riders value reliability, flexibility, and peace of mind. Uber Reserve helps them take control of their travel plans, whether for flights, meetings, or family events.”

With increasing adoption across cities and use cases, Uber Reserve is set to play a bigger role in India’s travel planning landscape. The company remains focused on delivering solutions that offer riders greater convenience and reliability.
