A tragic accident took place on Tuesday morning, October 14, when a PMPML bus accident in Pune claimed two lives and left one person seriously injured. The incident occurred near the Katraj Ghat tunnel on the city’s outskirts around 9:45 am.

According to police officials, a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus traveling from Sasewadi towards Pune struck a motorcycle from behind, leading to the fatal crash.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as Akash Ramdas Gogavale (29) and Anushka Prakash Wadkar (27), both residents of Sasewadi. A third person, Neha Kailash Gogavale (20), suffered serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at Bharati Hospital.

Eyewitnesses reported that the collision’s impact threw the two-wheeler onto the road, resulting in instant fatalities. Local residents quickly came forward to assist the victims and called the authorities for help.

Police Action and Traffic Update

The Ambegaon police responded promptly, sending the bodies for autopsy and detaining the bus driver for questioning. The driver has been sent for a medical examination. The PMPML bus accident in Pune also caused temporary traffic congestion, which was resolved with assistance from the Bharati University Traffic Department and local police.

A police official confirmed, “The PMPML bus, headed towards Pune, hit the motorcycle at a sharp turn, leading to two deaths on the spot and one serious injury.”

The investigation is ongoing to determine whether reckless driving or a technical fault led to the PMPML bus accident in Pune.
