While India already has several tunnel aquariums, Hyderabad’s upcoming facility will be the biggest and most advanced, designed to rival global standards. The walk-through tunnel will make guests feel like they’re strolling beneath the ocean, surrounded by marine life from around the world.
Global Collaboration & Cutting-Edge Design
This ambitious project is a collaboration between marine experts from Singapore and Australia, along with Indian designers and engineers. The aquarium will feature climate-controlled environments, sustainable systems, and thematic zones replicating rivers, lakes, coral reefs, and deep-sea ecosystems.
Drawing inspiration from leading marine centers like Ahmedabad’s Science City and Kerala’s Marine World, the aquarium will also incorporate augmented reality (AR) experiences, digital guides, and educational tours, transforming it into a “living classroom” for students and conservation enthusiasts.
Exotic Marine Species & Conservation Focus
Visitors can expect to see rare and exotic species, including:
- Amazonian Arowanas
- African Cichlids
- Deep-sea creatures from Asia, Africa, and the Americas
The project, pending approval from the Central Zoo Authority, is expected to be completed by 2026 under a public-private partnership. Once operational, it will not only be a major tourist attraction but also a hub for marine education and conservation efforts.
