Speaking at the White House, Trump praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, “I will always be friends with Modi, he is a great Prime Minister.” He added, “India and the United States have a special relationship. There is nothing to worry about.”

When asked about his recent Truth Social post that hinted at “losing India,” Trump brushed it aside with a brief response: “I don’t think we have.”

The President also highlighted his personal rapport with Modi, recalling their past engagement. “I get along very well with Modi, as you know. He was here a couple of months ago, we went to the Rose Garden.”

Responding to Trump’s remarks, Prime Minister Modi expressed his appreciation on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Deeply appreciate and fully reciprocate President Trump’s sentiments and positive assessment of our ties.” Modi also underlined that India and the United States share a “very positive and forward-looking Comprehensive and Global Strategic Partnership.”
