Monsoon Covers Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana

The IMD stated that the monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and the entire Delhi-NCR region as of today. This marks the full coverage of the monsoon across India, much earlier than anticipated.

Early Onset and Rapid Progress

This year’s monsoon began its journey from Kerala on May 24, 2025eight days earlier than its usual date of June 1. Interestingly, it has now covered the entire nation eight days before its normal schedule, showcasing an unusual yet beneficial coincidence in timing.

Impact on Agriculture and Water Reserves

The early arrival of monsoon rains is expected to boost agricultural activities, particularly for kharif crops like rice, pulses, and sugarcane. Additionally, it will help replenish groundwater levels and fill up dams and reservoirs, easing water scarcity concerns in several states.

What’s Next?

With the monsoon now covering all of India, the IMD will closely monitor rainfall distribution to assess potential flood risks in vulnerable regions while ensuring optimal agricultural benefits.
