Artificial skeleton mistaken for real one creates panic at Pune’s Shastrinagar Chowk
Pune witnessed a strange and tense moment on Thursday afternoon when a skeleton was found lying in the middle of the road at Shastrinagar Chowk in Yerwada. The busy traffic point is located barely 100 metres from the Yerwada Police Station, which made the sight even more alarming for people passing by.
At first glance, the skeleton looked real, complete with a skull, torso, and pelvic bones. With vehicles moving through heavy traffic, some even ran over it before anyone realised what it was. Concerned citizens quickly informed the police, who rushed to the spot and took the skeleton into custody.

The sight of the skeleton caused panic as many people believed it to be actual human remains. However, after a careful inspection, the police realized that it was not real but an artificial skeleton made of Plaster of Paris and wires. Officers said it was most likely used as a model for medical education model and had been discarded.
Though the discovery ended with relief, the mystery of how such an item ended up in the middle of a busy road is still under investigation.
