Seaplane Services Being Planned at 8 Locations in Maharashtra to Boost Tourism

The Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) has taken a major step towards boosting regional connectivity by inviting bids for the development of eight new water aerodromes in Maharashtra. These aerodromes aim to promote tourism and enhance air connectivity to remote and scenic areas across the state.
MariTime Energy Heli Air Services Pvt. Ltd. has emerged as the L1 bidder for preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and Pre-Feasibility Study. Two other bidders were disqualified during the technical evaluation stage.
Proposed Water Aerodrome Locations
The following sites have been shortlisted for development:
- Dhom Dam, Wai (Satara)
- Gangapur Dam (Nashik)
- Mirye (Ratnagiri)
- Ganpatipule (Ratnagiri)
- Khindsi Lake (Nagpur)
- Pench Dam (Nagpur)
- Pawna Dam (Pune)
- Koradi Dam (Buldhana)
