Samruddhi Expressway: Traffic Diversions

Amravati: Commuters traveling via the Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Expressway are advised to plan their journeys carefully this week. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has announced temporary traffic halts in the Amravati district section for five days, from January 9 to January 13, 2026.

The disruptions are due to the installation of overhead gantries under the Highway Traffic Management System (HTMS). This vital technical upgrade aims to enhance safety and monitoring on the high-speed corridor.

Impacted Stretch and Schedule

The work is slated to take place between km 90+500 and km 150+300, covering parts of Dhamangaon Railway, Chandur Railway, and Nandgaon Khandeshwar talukas.

To ensure public safety during the heavy lifting and installation process, the administration has outlined the following:

  • Duration: The work will be carried out in 10 distinct phases over the five-day period.
  • Traffic Halts: During each phase, traffic on the concerned lane will be completely shut down for 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Resumption: Normal traffic flow will resume immediately after the completion of each installation phase.

Advisory for Travelers

The administration anticipates minor delays for passengers during these technical windows. “We urge travelers to plan their schedules accordingly and strictly follow the instructions provided by highway personnel and traffic marshals on-site,” a district official stated.

The implementation of the HTMS is a significant step toward making the Samruddhi Expressway one of the most technologically advanced and safest highways in the country.
