According to the Pune district administration, a total of 1,285 hectares, around 3,000 acres, will be acquired for the project. So far, the measurement of 1,254 hectares has already been completed. The land has been identified across seven villages: Kumbharvalan, Ekhatpur, Pargaon, Munjawadi, Khanwadi, Udachiwadi, and Vanpuri in Purandar taluka.

District officials said around 3,220 farmers from these villages have submitted consent forms, covering nearly 94 percent of the total land required for the project. The measurement work, which began on September 26, has been finished in Udachiwadi, Ekhatpur, Munjawadi, and Kumbharvalan, while the remaining portions in Khanwadi and Pargaon are expected to be completed soon.

Once the measurement and reporting process is concluded, a high-level committee will determine the compensation rate for land acquisition. Agreements will then be signed with the farmers, followed by the distribution of compensation.

Preparations are also in progress to issue a notification under Section 33(1) of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Act. Meanwhile, farmers have requested a higher return on developed plots as part of the compensation package. The state government’s decision on this demand will be crucial in finalizing the next steps for the Purandar Airport project.
