Pune Weather Update: IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Cold Wave in 8 Maharashtra Districts, Pune Records Sharp Dip in Minimum Temperatures
Pune, December 02, 2025: The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for cold wave conditions in eight districts of Maharashtra, including Pune, with temperatures dipping noticeably on Monday morning. The alert remains in place for the next 72 hours.
After the latest Western Disturbance moved away, strong northerly winds began flowing into central India, pulling down night temperatures across the region. Former IMD scientist Anupam Kashyapi said winter conditions have strengthened again and Pune may see isolated cold wave conditions along with shallow fog during early mornings.
The districts under the yellow alert are Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, Nashik Ghats, Ahilyanagar, Pune and Solapur. For all these areas, IMD has flagged “cold wave conditions in isolated pockets” with a very likely probability. Daytime weather is expected to stay dry.
Cold wave conditions very likely to prevail at a few places in districts of North Madhya Maharashtra.
