Pune Weather Alert: Hotter Days and Warmer Nights Ahead; UV Index to Hit ‘Very High’ Levels
Pune, February 03, 2026: Residents of the city should prepare for a spike in mercury levels as the latest weather forecast predicts a steady rise in both day and night temperatures over the coming week. Along with the heat, a significant increase in the UV Index and humidity levels is expected to make the outdoors increasingly uncomfortable.
Rising Temperatures and Humidity
According to the seven-day forecast, Pune will witness a gradual climb in temperatures. While today, February 3, records a maximum of 31°C, the mercury is set to hit 32°C consistently starting Wednesday, February 4.
More notably, the nighttime chill is beginning to recede. Minimum temperatures, currently at 14°C, will rise to 15°C and eventually 16°C by the weekend. Coupled with humidity levels hovering as high as 85%, the air is likely to feel heavy and warmer than the actual recorded temperature.
UV Alert: “Very High” Risk
The most critical takeaway for Puneites is the UV Index. Currently sitting at a “Very High” level of 8, it is forecasted to climb to 9 over the next few days and peak at 10 by Saturday, February 7.
At these levels, unprotected skin can be damaged or burned quickly. Health experts and weather monitors advise the following precautions:
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Stay indoors or seek shade between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
- Protective Gear: Wear wide-brimmed hats, UV-protective sunglasses, and full-sleeved clothing.
- Sunscreen: Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen liberally before heading out.
Seven-Day Sky Forecast
The week will start with mainly clear skies, but a shift is expected starting tomorrow.
- Feb 4 – Feb 9: The city will experience mainly clear skies in the mornings, becoming partly cloudy toward the afternoon or evening hours.
While no official weather warnings for rain have been issued yet, the transition to partly cloudy conditions combined with rising humidity suggests a shift in the local climate pattern as we move further into February.
