Pune Water Cut Alert: Supply to be Suspended in Several Areas This Thursday
Pune, February 11, 2026: Residents in various parts of the city, particularly those served by the Wadgaon Water Works, should brace for a planned water shutdown this week. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that water supply will be suspended on Thursday, February 12, 2026, to facilitate essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.
The shutdown is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Midnight. According to PMC officials, the closure is necessary to install a “dummy plate” (closure plate) on the raw water pipeline of Wadgaon Water Treatment Plant (Phase 1) and to install three new kiosks at the facility.
As a result of this work, supply is also expected to resume at low pressure and later than scheduled on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Affected Areas
The water cut will impact a significant portion of South Pune and suburban areas, including:
- Wadgaon Area: Hingane, Anandnagar, Wadgaon, Dhayari, and Ambegaon Pathar.
- Southern Hubs: Dattanagar, Dhankawadi, Katraj, Bharati Vidyapeeth campus, and Kondhwa Budruk.
- Residential Localities: Ambegaon Khurd, Ambegaon Budruk, Yewalewadi, Sahakarnagar Part 2 (upper areas), Ambedkarnagar, Tilaknagar, and Date Bus Stop vicinity.
- Rajiv Gandhi Pumping Zones: Sacchaimata Tank, Santosh Nagar, Sunda Mata Nagar, Wonder City, Morebaug, Shrihari Tank, Balaji Nagar, and Pawar Hospital area.
- Society Pockets: Kedareshwar Tank, Sukhsagar Nagar (Parts 1 & 2), Rajas Society, Utkarsh Society, Sundarban Society, Shelar Mala, Katraj Gaothan, Bharat Nagar, Varkhade Nagar, and the entirety of Old Ward 41.
