Key Findings and Directives from the Inspection

1. Toilet Facilities Declared Unhygienic, Immediate Repairs Ordered

Minister Sarnaik personally inspected toilet facilities at multiple ST stops after receiving numerous complaints from passengers. Finding them in a dilapidated and unhygienic state, he ordered immediate repairs and upgrades to ensure better sanitation for travelers.

2. Unauthorized Bus Stop at Bhigwan Raises Concerns

At the Bhigwan ST Bus Station, the Minister discovered that several buses were stopping at an unauthorized hotel halt nearby. He expressed strong displeasure over passengers being served food in unsanitary conditions and directed ST officials to take strict action against those responsible.

3. Waterlogging Issues Due to Highway Elevation

Passengers at Bhigwan highlighted a persistent problem—since the highway was elevated, the bus station now lies in a low-lying area, leading to waterlogging during monsoons. This causes significant inconvenience to travelers and staff alike.

4. New Bhigwan Bus Stand to Be Constructed Soon

Responding to complaints, Minister Sarnaik spoke with Dinesh Mahajan, General Manager of the MSRTC construction department, and instructed him to float a tender urgently for a new, spacious Bhigwan Bus Stand. He emphasized that passengers deserve better infrastructure and committed to swift improvements.

5. Food Quality and Cleanliness Under Scrutiny

The Minister also inspected eateries and refreshment centers along the highway, reviewing food quality and hygiene. Noting multiple complaints, especially from women travelers about unclean toilets, he ordered immediate corrective measures for better sanitation and service standards.

A Step Towards Better Public Transport Amenities

Minister Sarnaik’s proactive inspection and swift directives mark a significant push toward enhancing passenger comfort on the busy Pune-Solapur route. His direct engagement with travelers has been widely appreciated, signaling a commitment to improving Maharashtra’s public transport infrastructure.
