Traffic officials said that modified silencers, especially on Bullet motorcycles, have been a frequent source of complaints from citizens. Many residents have raised concerns about loud exhaust sounds late at night and in residential areas, causing inconvenience to senior citizens, children, and patients.
The department has warned vehicle owners that strict action will continue against those violating noise and vehicle modification norms. Motorists have been advised to ensure that their vehicles comply with standard factory specifications and legal sound limits.
The crackdown is part of a broader effort by city authorities to improve road discipline and reduce unnecessary noise across Pune.
