Pune: Supriya Sule Urges Dedicated Lane for School Buses in Sus to Ease Traffic on Hinjawadi Phase 3 Route
Pune News, July 14, 2025: Supriya Sule, Member of Parliament from Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, has raised serious concerns about traffic congestion in the Sus area, especially during school hours.
Addressing the growing issue, she pointed out that two major schools and several smaller educational institutions operate in the Sus locality. Their school buses ferry students to and from school every morning and afternoon, leading to unregulated traffic movement.
“This lack of coordination in school transport often causes inconvenience to other road users,” said Sule. She emphasized that the Sus region is now directly linked with the bustling Hinjawadi Phase 3 zone, which houses the prominent Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park. This has resulted in a significant increase in the number of commuters, particularly tech professionals, who rely on this route for daily travel.
In light of this, Sule has formally requested the district administration to allocate a dedicated traffic lane for school buses during peak hours, specifically in the mornings and afternoons. According to her, such a move would streamline vehicular movement and reduce chaos on the roads, ensuring smoother transit for both students and regular commuters.
“This step will go a long way in improving traffic efficiency and safety in the area,” she added.
