Pune: Speeding Mercedes Crashes into Bike on Pune-Bangalore Highway, One Dead as Car Falls Off Wadgaon Bridge
Pune/Narhe, May 3, 2025: In a tragic accident early Saturday morning, a speeding Mercedes-Benz car collided with a Hero Splendor motorcycle near Vishal Hotel at Wadgaon Bridge on the Pune-Bangalore Highway. The crash resulted in the death of the bike rider and injuries to the pillion rider.
The deceased has been identified as Kunal Hushar, a resident of Chinchwad. The accident took place around 4:30 AM, according to DCP Sambhaji Kadam (Zone 3), Pune Police.
“The Mercedes rammed into the two-wheeler and then crashed through the barricade of Wadgaon Bridge, falling onto the service road below,” DCP Kadam reported. The car sustained severe damage, but the airbags helped limit injuries to its occupants.
The pillion rider on the motorcycle is undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, two occupants of the Mercedes are in custody, and two others have been hospitalized with injuries.

A case has been registered under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (culpable homicide). Police have conducted medical examinations of the accused and assured that swift action is being taken.
Investigations are underway to determine whether the car driver was speeding or under the influence at the time of the crash.
