Pune: Security Guard Stabbed in Brutal Attack Over Minor Dispute in Chinchwad; CCTV Footage Aids Quick Arrest
Pune, June 21, 2025: A minor disagreement turned into a horrifying act of violence in Chinchwad’s Shantiban Society late Friday night, leaving a watchman critically injured in a knife attack. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, allowing Chinchwad Police to swiftly identify and arrest the accused.
The victim, Sudam Narayan Kamithe, a long-serving security guard at Shantiban Society, is currently battling for his life in a local hospital. The accused, Ram Deoram Londhe, was apprehended from the Thergaon area within hours of the assault.
Background of the Conflict
Police revealed that Londhe, previously employed in the society’s housekeeping team, had resigned but continued visiting the premises to wash cars—a practice Kamithe strongly opposed. This led to repeated arguments between the two, escalating tensions over time.
The Brutal Attack
On Friday evening around 9 PM, Londhe approached Kamithe under the guise of a conversation. Without warning, he pulled out a knife and stabbed Kamithe in the abdomen. When Kamithe tried to resist, Londhe allegedly grabbed a cement brick and struck him on the head, leaving him unconscious and bleeding profusely.

Swift Police Action
Londhe fled immediately after the attack but was tracked down using CCTV footage. He was arrested from Thergaon, and police suspect the assault was premeditated. Investigations are ongoing to uncover any additional motives or influences behind the crime.
