Satyam Bhargav (29), a resident of Kharadi, was attacked around 5:30 pm on Monday near the Gurudwara on Elphinstone Road, Khadki. According to Bhargav, two men on a two-wheeler blocked his car after he asked them to follow traffic rules. The situation quickly escalated when the bikers physically assaulted him, causing a nose fracture and profuse bleeding. They also called two accomplices on a bullet motorcycle who joined in the assault.
Photos circulating online show his shirt soaked in blood. A CT scan later revealed a subtle nasal bone fracture and a fracture of the anterior bony nasal septum, hinting at possible internal injuries.
Update: The victims scan report shows nose fractured. If this isn't "intense" enough then what is? @CPPuneCity @PuneCityPolice #punenews #PuneTraffic @PuneCityTraffic @punekarnews @MirrorPune @pulse_pune @DGPMaharashtra @mataonline pic.twitter.com/tvV92RPchX

The police response has sparked criticism. Despite the severity of the attack, Khadki Police registered only a non-cognisable (NC) offence. Thevar questioned this, asking, “WHAT DEFINES INTENSITY? How is this not enough for an FIR?”
Concerns were also raised about the emergency helpline. The driver reportedly dialed 100, but instead of immediate human assistance, he received an automated message prompting numeric inputs.
The incident has reignited public debate on road safety, law enforcement efficiency, and the urgent need for stricter action against violent road rage incidents in the city.
