Pune: Ring Road Land Acquisition Nears Completion; Maharashtra Govt Approves Rs 17,000 Crore for Key Infrastructure Projects
Pune, 20th June 2025 – In a major push to accelerate critical infrastructure development, the Maharashtra government has approved an additional ₹17,000 crore to expedite land acquisition for key projects under the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who directed officials to ensure swift land procurement to prevent project delays.
Strict Timelines to Avoid Cost Overruns
CM Fadnavis emphasized that delays in land acquisition often escalate project costs and disrupt timelines. “There is no room for complacency. All departments must act in coordination and stick to the project deadlines,” he stated.
Major Projects in Focus
The meeting reviewed nine major infrastructure initiatives, including expressways, multi-modal corridors, and railway links. According to MSRDC Vice-Chairman & MD Anilkumar Gaikwad, land acquisition for the Pune Ring Road and Jalna–Nanded Expressway is nearly complete.

- Navgaon–Morgaon & Vadhwan–Samruddhi Link Roads
land measurement is currently underway.

- ₹9,000 crore for Pune Ring Road
- ₹2,140 crore for Jalna–Nanded Expressway
