Pune Railway Seizes 1,284 Unauthorized Packaged Drinking Water Bottles at Station
Pune, September 20, 2025: The Pune Division of Central Railway has cracked down on the unauthorized sale of packaged drinking water at Pune Railway Station. In a special drive led by Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Kumar Verma, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Anil Kumar Pathak, and Assistant Commercial Manager (Goods) Shantanu Atre, railway officials seized 107 boxes containing 1,284 bottles of unauthorized brands.
The action is part of an ongoing effort to ensure passengers have access only to safe and approved drinking water. The division has urged travelers to avoid buying water bottles from hawkers or unlicensed vendors. Instead, passengers are advised to purchase only the authorized “Rail Neer” bottles, which are available at official station stalls and counters.
The Pune Division reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and passenger safety, while also taking firm steps to curb unauthorized sales within railway premises.
