Pune Rural District Under Preventive Restrictions Until June 13

Pune Rural District will be under preventive restrictions from midnight on May 31, 2025, until midnight on June 13, 2025, as per orders issued by Deputy District Magistrate Jyoti Kadam under Sections 37 (1) and (3) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.

The restrictions include a ban on carrying inflammable or explosive materials, stones, weapons, or any objects that can cause physical harm—such as swords, sticks, spears, guns, and other arms. Additionally, the order prohibits:

  • Displaying or burning symbolic/actual pictures or effigies of individuals or leaders.
  • Loud public announcements, playing musical instruments, or any activities disrupting public order.
  • Speeches or behavior threatening public morality, state security, or inciting rebellion.
  • Manufacturing or spreading inflammatory material.
  • Gatherings of more than five people without prior permission from the Pune Rural Superintendent of Police.

Exemptions apply to government personnel and those authorized to carry weapons for official duties. Violations will be penalized under Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.

Authorities state these measures are essential for maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety in the district.
